Our Client is one of the market leader companies in the Hungarian building materials industry. It operates 3 main business lines and aggregates and provides numerous services in concrete technology. The German owned company is located in Vác.

Head of HR Department

The Head of HR Department will be responsible for the daily operational HR business processes and for providing advisory services – at operational and administration level. As part of a successful, growing organization you will be encouraged to perform at your best.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

Organize the HR department according to the companies standards and establish working relationship with the Company’s HR Director

Responsible for managing the daily HR business of the company

Ensure in cooperation with the HRD and operating departments that the company is properly staffed by matching employees

Ensure communication and management of Global HR processes, such as performance management, with a strong focus on talent retention, professional development and succession planning

Manage talent management and HR processes for top and senior positions (performance, talent review, succession planning, trainee programs)

Implement and monitor training and personnel development programs according to the business needs;

Foster good employee relations and promote employee engagement

Act as the point of contact for both employees and managers to deliver customized and forward-looking solutions, programs, policies and services

Contribute to the improvement of financial results by interpreting HR related statistics like absenteeism, fluctuation and developing countermeasures for improvement

Participation in the planning of staff costs, continuous control of HR Budget


University degree in Human Resources, Economics, or equivalent business experience

Senior generalist HR expertise as well as experience in taking sites through a transformation (Experience with blue collars is a plus)

Familiar with Hungarian labour law and other related regulations

Ability to work in a fast, complex and rapidly growing/changing work environment;

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to organize and analyze data

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks & work to deadlines, to work under pressure

Attitude to spend time with people and willingness to travel to the sites

Exceptional listening skills with an emphasis on understanding, empathy and a high affinity to effectively work together with people of different business lines

Excellent and persuasive communicator with effective negotiation skills

Manage commercially sensitive and highly confidential information with unwavering discretion, tact, and diplomacy

Applies solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, & confidentiality

Ability to coach, mentor and advise where appropriate to help employees grow and develop in alignment with business and personal goals

Ability to resolve conflicts and make decisions

Fluent in English – Strong communication skills both written and verbal,

German language knowledge is an advantage

Experienced user of Microsoft Office, Excel. Experience in SAP HR modules is an advantage
